G has a sweet spot for animals of all kinds. At this point, we have visited zoos across the nation so it’s no surprise that she jumped at the opportunity to spend a Saturday morning at our local zoo in Palm Desert, CA. The weather here has been incredible through the winter months – well, except for the frequent, strong wind funneling through the San Gorgonio Pass into the valley where we are staying – but that’s another story for another day.

Zoo & Gardens

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is a wonderful attraction for animal lovers and families alike. The zoo is home to a variety of animals, including rhinos, cheetahs, giraffes, and many more, and offers a unique opportunity to learn about and interact with these fascinating creatures through “encounters.”

In addition to its animal exhibits, the Living Desert also features beautiful botanical gardens, showcasing a wide variety of plant life from deserts around the world. Visitors can stroll through the gardens and admire the vibrant colors and unique shapes of the plants, while learning about their important role in desert ecosystems.
